AstroCube Planner

Plan your AstroCube in 3D: choose size, roof, pier, mount and telescope, and check the roof travel and the visible sky. No sign-in, right in your browser.

If you like the plan, save it in your account and keep working on it later, or let us check it and prepare a quote.

At a glance

Cost: free, usable without signing in.

Saving: optional, with an account. Until then your draft stays in this browser.

Enquiry: possible at any time without an account, with name, email, delivery country and postal code.

Equipment: 16 mounts and telescopes as simplified models; your own dimensions are possible.

Requirements: current browser with WebGL, best from tablet size.

What the planner checks

Space and roof

Clearances of telescope, mount and accessories to walls, roof and neighbouring devices: in park position, across the observing range and while the roof opens.

Visible sky

The planner shows which part of the sky is clear with the roof open. A horizon you measured with the Horizon Mapper can be overlaid semi-transparently.

Several stations

Up to six pier stations with up to four telescopes each, plus a proposal for a safe arrangement of the stations.

How it works

  1. 1

    Building

Set the size, roof type, wall height and door.

  2. 2

    Equipment

Choose a mount and a telescope from the catalogue or enter your own dimensions.

  3. 3

    Check

Move the telescope, open the roof and look at the plan check and the sky window.

  4. 4

    Save or enquire

Save the plan in your account, or request a quote, a plan review or a custom size without an account.

Accuracy and limits

Non-binding preliminary planning

Preliminary spatial planning only. Results depend on the equipment models and dimensions provided. Final technical verification is carried out before order approval.

Standard range

One-piece roof up to 1.50 m in the rolling direction. Two-piece roof up to 1.50 m per half, 3.00 m in total. Across that direction and in every base direction up to 3.00 m. The limits themselves are still standard. Above them a custom enquiry is required; custom sizes remain plannable.

What is not calculated

Manufacturer firmware, axis limits, cables, loads and real sensors are not part of the calculation. A geometric fit confirms neither load capacity nor adapter compatibility.

Equipment status

Catalogue models are simplified models from data packages with approximated internal axis positions. Your own dimensions count as customer-supplied, unverified. Distances are conservative envelope distances, not an approval.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to sign in?

No. Planning, checking and enquiring work without an account. You only need one if you want to save plans permanently on our server and edit them later.

What does the planner cost?

Nothing. It is a free tool from AstroCube ONE.

What happens to my data?

While you plan, no data is sent to us. Only when you send an enquiry do you hand over your contact details and the plan shown. If you save in your account, the plan is stored on our server. Details are in the privacy policy.

How accurate is the result?

The planner calculates with simplified envelopes and the dimensions you or the catalogue provide. It is not an approval: final technical verification is carried out before order approval.

Which equipment is available?

Mounts from Sky-Watcher, ZWO, 10Micron, Astro-Physics, WarpAstron and PlaneWave and telescopes from Sharpstar, TEC, Celestron, GSO and Borg. If your device is missing, enter the dimensions yourself or ask for sizing assistance.

What is a custom enquiry?

If your cube is above 3.00 m or your roof exceeds the standard limits, it is not a standard model. You can still plan it and request a custom size; the roof then opens according to its actual size.

Can I use my measured horizon?

Yes. Measure the horizon of your site with the Horizon Mapper and import the file into the planner.

Ready to plan?

Start the planner and check whether your telescope and mount fit into your AstroCube.
